Mechanic told me it failed Emmissions due to the Cat....

that doesn't include the other work it needs so I pulled the plug paid the good men, and drove her home... at least she doesn't leak coolant anymore. I'm selling her next week.

Has a waiver for emissions :/

How hard could it be to get a panther emissions compliant? Should be able to get all of the parts from a junkyard and/or abandoned one on the side of the road.

I would if My parents apartment complex would let me work on it.

Seriously I could buy all the parts I needed by now and had it on the road tonight.

My metro needs a cat converter, I have one. But that's the pain about plates expiring in December, too cold to work on stuff you put off all year.

I just checked back over the history. You've had an eventful month - kind of a shame overall.

I'd just do it anyway, especially if the reason it's failing emissions is simply because of a cat. It's not like it's a big job or one that will leave ATF all over the parking lot. If it's a bolt-in one and you get an OEM style one, the new one should be in in like fifteen minutes tops.

Axle seal - Rear axle seals are like $20. Just fix it.

Brakes - Minor at best - should just need pads. Easiest if 4 wheel discs, but drum brakes seem to last forever, so you should be able to get away with just the fronts if you just want to keep it on the road.

Tire - Craigslist - Should be able to pick up a tire on a steelie for $25-50.

Tail pipe - I'm guessint it has a rust hole in it, in which case it's cosmetic/noise. Not a big issue.

Cats - Easy

Windows/door - Who cares? It's a cheap beater

Wiper motor - What, does it just not return all the way? I'm sure it's fine.
